Family Radio Mission to Hawaii
October 2008
LETTER #1
"Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people." (Psalms 3:8)
On Monday, October 13, 2008 seventeen ambassadors (9 males and 8 females) from the East and West Coasts embarked on another Family Radio Mission trip to Hawaii, the 50th state of the United States of America, and all have arrived safely, by God's grace.
Honolulu, which is the capital of Hawaii means "place of shelter". This urban area together with the county of Oahu is Hawaii's most populous area, with over one million inhabitants. Hawaii is the fourth smallest state in the union, consisting of six major islands which comprise approximately 99% of the total land area. There are also 150 minor islands that dot the Pacific ocean for over 1,500 miles, making Hawaii the most remote island chain in the world; about 2,500 miles from the nearest landfall.
While here we plan to distribute one hundred and thirty three thousand Does God Love You? tracts in the English language and two thousand in the Japanese language, as well as FR teaching booklets which were brought in as checked luggage. The tracts were printed locally and delivered to our hotel a few weeks prior to our arrival.
Our prayer is that our merciful Savior will open the hands of many to receive the words of eternal life which includes the ominous warning that Judgment day is about 2 years and 8 months away. Moreover there is also the good news that God is saving a great multitude from the ends of the world in these very last days.
Could it be that our most compassionate and loving Savior will be the "place of shelter" from God's eternal wrath for many of these dear people according to His perfect will.
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12)

LETTER #2
"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." (Ephesians 6:13))
Tuesday, October 14, 2008. After a good night's rest from a long day of travel, we were ready to start our day of sharing the message of hope to the people of Hawaii. We broke up into five teams and went out to various locations in and around the county of Honolulu, including the Pearl Harbor Center, the Ala Manoa Shopping Center and Beach area, the Waikiki beach, and two Universities.
On the way to the Pearl Harbor Center, which was about a half hour bus ride from our Hotel, two members on one team had a relatively productive time sharing with the passengers on the bus as well as those that entered along the way. At the Center there were quite a few people and the ambassadors had opportunity to distribute the tracts with the visitors, but after about thirty minutes, the security officials advised them that distribution was prohibited since they were on Federal property; however at this time they had reached almost all the people at the site. They returned to the hotel, continuing their distribution on the bus, and finished up at the many bus stops around the hotel, reaching the many local workers who were out and about on lunch breaks, shopping or other business.
One team had started their distribution at the Ala Manoa Shopping Plaza, but after ten minutes they were escorted out by security officials and so they continued their efforts along the stretch of the Ala Manoa beach with limited reception from the tourists who represented the majority of the beach crowd, but with a much better response from the locals. The team finished up at the bus stops around the hotel where they reached the many local workers on their way home at the end of the day.
The teams that visited the Universities reported surprisingly good reception compared to other locations, perhaps because most of the students were locals. One team did not even have a university assignment, but by God's grace they were led to the location after they had reached as many people as the Lord allowed at the Shopping Center that was their original assignment. At the other university, it was only after the ambassadors were there for practically the whole day, that one of the professors told the team leader that they were not really supposed be there, but it is only because no one complained that they were able to remain and distribute the majority of their track load. Incidentally, this same professor had engaged the team leader in conversation because May 21, 2011 was emblazoned on his tee shirt (front and back) so this peaked the professor's interest and he wanted to know what was the meaning of the date. The team leader had an opportunity to witness to the professor and gave him the booklets "We Are Almost There" and "I Hope God Would Save Me" and he said he would immediately go to his office and read them. Could it be that though the Scriptures say that not many noble are called, that this professor is one of God's lost sheep that is being brought into the fold.
One ambassador met with a local FR listener (she listens via the Internet), and she was very pleased that we were there to bring the gospel of grace to her people and encouraged to ambassador, saying "keep up the good work". There were a few witnessing opportunities, mostly to the local people. In one instance an ambassador was talking a Jehovah's Witness lady and a friend of this lady was passing by and heard the conversation. After the lady left, her friend came to two of the ambassadors wanting to find out more about what we were about and why were we in Hawaii. We told the young gentleman that we were there to warn the people of Christ's return on 5/21/2011 and that now is the time for him to beseech God for His mercy because he too could have the opportunity to be saved from God's wrath. He graciously accepted the tract and FR teaching booklets and said that he will read them. We pointed him to the website and told him that he could get additional material or questions answered. He was indeed thankful and we pray for God's mercy on this young man.
Overall the reception was fair and we request your continued prayers that God would provide open hearts and outstretched hands to receive the words of eternal life that we have the wonderful opportunity to bring to the people of Hawaii.
"The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17)

LETTER #3
"And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever." (Revelation 11:15)
Wednesday, October 15, 2008. We are thankful for another opportunity to share the true gospel with these dear people of Honolulu and its immediate environs. One team visited an area called Pearl City Park which is two and a half bus ride from the hotel. When the team arrived there the area was not bustling as they had expected, nevertheless, they worked the shops and places of business around the area. Though the people were few, the reception was good. On the way to their assignment they had seen the signs for a flea market, so having not found many people at the location, they traveled back to the flea market. Upon reaching there they saw that this was a gigantic market with lots of possibilities. They distributed tracts to the numerous vendors and shoppers, with good reception, by God's grace.
Another team went to one of the many upscale shopping malls in and around the Waikiki area and was able to share the message with the vendors and shoppers. The flow thinned out and they prayed for God's leading to His lost sheep. As they were walking along the streets sharing with the passersby, they came upon a clinic with many local people and they had a very productive time at this location. In addition, in their travel around the area they ran into a large park and they were able to share with quite a few people including the homeless. Even further on in their travels they stumbled upon a large bus terminal with many shoppers, business people and tourists embarking and disembarking the buses that terminated from there from various locations in and around the city and county. Again they were able to share the tracts and FR teaching booklets at a relatively rapid pace with very good reception, and indeed thankful for answers to their prayers.
One team worked in Chinatown, an area in downtown Honolulu where the majority of the shopkeepers and their customers are immigrants from China and other countries around the Pacific Rim. There were hundreds of small stores and vendors' kiosks selling a potpourri of ethnic goods and services.
The people graciously accepted the "Does God Love You?" tracts, allowing for a good reception at this location.
Yet another team returned to the Ala Moana Shopping Plaza, expecting to have better results than yesterday's attempts at this location by another team. By God's providence, the results were much improved because the ambassadors were able to spend quite a few hours at the site with very great reception from the natives and the same fair reception from the tourists. Later in the afternoon the security officials politely told them that they were not allowed to distribute their material unless they were given permission from the building personnel. They sought permission which was denied, but, thankfully, God inclined the heart of the lady with whom the team leader spoke, so that when the team leader asked her where she thinks he could find people, she gladly pointed him to a location where there was much foot traffic entering and exiting the complex. And there again, we see the mighty hand of God at work providing opportunities and answer to prayers.
Once more the Lord provided opportunity for the ambassadors to be a witness of His word to those who were seriously seeking truth. One young man seemed very concerned about the end time events when he came over to an ambassador and said: "I hear from my parents, based on their understanding of the Bible (as well as the things that are happening today), that the world will end soon." He went on to say that he received the tract this morning and from what he read, it confirmed what his parents are saying and he expressed that he was really scared about the 2011 dates. He even told the ambassador, in confidence, that he was a homosexual, but that he was not currently engaging in that behavior because he was frightened about God's judgment. Then he said: "tell me, is there any hope for someone like me?" The ambassador promptly replied: "Yes there is!" The ambassador explained that we are all sinners and that Jesus Christ came to save sinners. He said, moreover, today is the day of salvation, and God is saving a great multitude that no man can number, so there is just as much hope for this man, as anyone else. The ambassador offered him the FR booklet, "I Hope God Will Save Me". He took the booklet and asked, "Can I really have this? The ambassador told him that the booklet was indeed his and that he should read it and at the same time beseech God for mercy. This young man was very appreciative, and we pray that the Lord would be merciful to this dear soul. To God be the glory!
Brethren, please continue to pray for us and for these dear people of Hawaii as we continue to share this message of hope with them.
"Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety." (Psalms 4:7 8)

LETTER #4
"The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah." (Psalms 46:7)
Thursday, October 16, 2008. Being thankful to God for His mercies which are new every day, the teams fanned out to universities, hospitals, and shopping malls and plazas on the west coast of the island, while some remained in downtown Honolulu.
One team that stayed in the downtown Honolulu Waikiki area visited a Craft Fair, a huge mall complex. Centered within this mall is the University of Phoenix and another Hawaiian University, as well as various department stores, including Macy's. There was a great flow in the area with the students, shoppers and business people coming and going and the team had a favorable distribution. While at the location people were requesting prayers for various trials in their lives, one being a lady and her son who were about to be evicted from their home, and another was a lady from Washington DC who had come to Hawaii to bury her uncle. We pray that these people will comforted by the God of all comfort.
Three universities were visited today but at two locations we were not able to do much work because permission was required, however, the personnel to provide this permission were not available that day. However, by God's grace one team was able to do some work at the University of Hawaii Faculty of Sciences and the response here was favorable. Many of the students had questions and the ambassadors were happy to provide them with the FR teaching materials and to point them to the website where they could receive more information. One science professor was very interested in the time line of history, he being engaged in the study of oceanography. The ambassador told him that he could request the booklets "Let The Oceans Speak" and "Adam When?" for more details on the subject. The professor, who also declared that evolution is a lie, took many of the FR materials including "We Are Almost There". One man that an ambassador approached
with a tract professed that he is an atheist and he did not need this information, however the ambassador engaged him in discussion, telling him that God created him and all mankind to serve Him and He gave us the Bible to show us how to be obedient. After a few minutes of speaking to this man and telling him about God's salvation plan, he softened, accepted the tract and started reading. Please pray that God would have mercy on this dear soul.
One of the teams that worked on the west coast of Oahu traveled by car for about 80 miles and along the way stopped in three cities, namely, NA NA KU LI, KAPO LE I and MI LI A NI. The residents of these cities are native Hawaiians and these poor and middle class people were very appreciative of the "Does God Love You?" tracts, saying 'thank you' and 'God bless you' as they gladly received the precious words of life. The team reported very excellent reception in these cities. The people at the other shopping malls and plazas were satisfactorily responsive to the tracts and the message of peace and reconciliation and we thank and praise the Lord for His wonderful provision.
Today again, the Lord provided several witnessing opportunities. In one instance two ambassadors upon leaving the Hawaii Pacific University where they had only limited distribution, since they did not get permission, met a lady at the bus stop who gladly accepted a tract and started reading. While waiting there to go to our next assignment, the lady came over and started asking questions about the end of the church age and stating that she had never heard that before. She expressed that she herself does not go to church because she did not feel that they taught the truth and she was surprised that we are sharing the gospel and not affiliated with any church or denomination. We told her that the churches are no longer in God's evangelization program because of their "do it yourself" salvation program. When she heard that there is nothing that anyone can do to become saved, she declared that she is scared. We told her to go to God and beseech
Him for His mercy and it is possible that she too can be His child because He is not a respecter of persons.
In another instance an ambassador gave the tract to a gentleman, who, upon receiving it said: "O, Mr. Camping's tract". The ambassador was surprised that this gentleman was that familiar with the tract. The man indicated that a while back he had lived in Redwood, California and had relocated to Hawaii. He was pleased to see that we were sharing the wonderful words of life with the people of Hawaii and he also stated that he was in full agreement with the message and that at one point he thought that he was the only one of that mindset, here in Hawaii. He and the ambassador fellowshipped for a little time and he even said that it would give him great pleasure to share these tracts with the people of the other islands of Hawaii, including the Channel Islands. We see the mysterious way that God is working to bring His people in contact with each other so as to facilitate the "latter rain" harvest.
Brothers and sisters, we are indeed thankful for your intercessions for the people of Hawaii. We again covet your prayers that God would give us the strength to continue serving Him here.
"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." (Psalms 46:10)

LETTER #5
"I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep." (John 10:11)
Friday, October 17, 2008. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised! We are glad that God has allowed us yet another day to serve Him on the mission field in the wonderful city of Honolulu and its neighboring towns and villages. The assignments for today included visits to the Diamond Head Crater, the Moanalua High School, and Chinatown. One team remained in the Waikiki Beach area, because every day there are new visitors to this beach resort for sun and fun, and who, undoubtedly are in desperate need for the gospel of salvation to transport them from this transitory life, to a state of eternal bliss, as God allows.
The team that went to Chinatown reported that they stayed in the market area for a little while where the reception rate was about 40%, and less than was anticipated, given that this market is frequented by many locals. Nevertheless, they criscrossed the location, distributing to stores, shops and business offices in and around the area. Later in the day they visited the MO A NA LUA High School just in time for its 2.30pm dismissal. The team was able to reach a great majority of the students with the words of life, which they gladly accepted, many of them surprised by the question "Does God Love You?", and responding, "Of course He does." May it be that amongst these children there will be many for whom that response will be indeed true, as God gives them a new heart and a great desire to be obedient to His will.
The Lord provided a wonderful time of sharing the gospel of grace with the people at a large shopping mall located a great distance away, on the outskirts of the city center. On visits to other malls over the past few days, the teams were asked to leave, very early in the distribution process. However, today, by God's mercy, the team was able to work around this complex sharing with the store vendors and shoppers on all levels of the mall (being very discrete). We are grateful to the Lord for facilitating the distribution efforts at this location, allowing for about a 95% reception rate amongst these dear people, the majority of whom are native Hawaiians.
The visit to the Diamond Head Crater produced very good results. This crater, whose summit is at a 761 foot elevation, was built in 1908 as part of the US Army Coastal Artillery defense system. It is a very challenging hiking trail and a major tourist attraction. When the team arrived at the location there were hundreds of people, old young, and middle aged waiting to commence this jaunt that would allow them to experience the breathtaking view of the island of Oahu from the summit of this crater. The ambassadors were on hand to present these people with the gospel of grace that could transport them to the truly inexplicable sight of the New Jerusalem. The team positioned themselves at a very strategic juncture about three quarters of the way to the summit, and at the narrowest point where there was no escape. Thus they were able to distribute to the people either on the way up or down. Some even said that they would take the tract and FR teaching booklets on the way down, because they wanted to travel light to the top of the crater. The team stayed there for about two and a half hours, when the flow was down to a trickle and the results were very good, especially with the Japanese tourists. The team then went to a Community College and to the Ala Moana Shopping Plaza and ended the day on a very encouraging note, by God's grace.
The remaining teams also reported that their day produced overall favorable results, including the team with the Waikiki Beach assignment. As the days go by we see that the people are becoming more inquisitive about the message of judgment and reconciliation that we have brought to them. Whereas at the beginning of the mission they appeared to be nonchalant, we notice a measured increase in their questioning, as they seek to know more about the 2011 dates. Some are downright scared and are asking what they could do to be "hid in the day of the Lord's anger". As much as we are able, we witness to these dear people, offering them the FR teaching materials and encouraging them to beseech the Lord for His mercy, given that today is still the day of Salvation.
We are indeed grateful to our contact here in Honolulu (Jason) who had put out the Macedonian call for the publishing of the true gospel in Hawaii. He has been very gracious in providing the group with his personal transportation services to distant locations, and has even assisted us in our distribution efforts while on vacation from his job. Also we are thankful to the listening audience for their financial contribution towards Bibles and the printing of the tracts. May the Lord bless many with repentance unto salvation, through the precious gospel that He has entrusted to us.
"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." (I Corinthians 2:9 10)

"Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law." (Psalms 119:18)
Saturday & Sunday, October 18-19, 2008.. We are again ready, with renewed vigor, to go into the highways and byways to share the words of life, the message of hope with these dear people of Honolulu, Hawaii. Over the two days, we revisited the Diamond Head Crater and the Aloha Stadium Flea Market. In addition we conducted our distribution efforts at a Craft Fair, an Arts Fair at the University of Hawaii, the Hawaiian Hilton Village and the Baby Expo in the downtown area.
The Aloha Stadium Swap Meet/Flea Market is a shopper's paradise and one truly needs to be a shopaholic to traverse the rows and rows of vendors, whose wares were from junk to funk, and anything in between. The intermittent rains did not deter the steady flow of shoppers (a mix of tourist and locals), and the team was able to share the gospel of grace with these dear folks, many of whom gladly accepted the tracts and the FR teaching booklets. Also quite a few of the locals, while requesting more information about the salvation and the end of time, indicated that they were very pleased that we had come from the mainland to bring this wonderful message of hope to them. After about three hours at the location, many of the people stated that they already received the tract and other literature so we left for our long bus ride back to town.
On Sunday another team returned to the Flea Market, since every day of the Swap Meet (Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays) brings new visitors/shoppers. This team had a relatively successful two hours of distribution before the security officials asked them to leave. Nevertheless, we are indeed grateful to the Lord for allowing us, over the two days, to distribute approximately 4,000 tracts and dozens of teaching booklets and a few Bibles, with about a 70% reception rate. Moreover, we are overjoyed that many of the native Hawaiians are the recipients of the true gospel. The Aloha Stadium Swap Meet would never be the same after our visits there.
Saturday's revisit to the Diamond Head Crater produced the same good results, by God's grace and the team was able to share many Japanese tracts, and a few in other languages (Chinese, German, Korean, Polish, Portuguese). In fact two Polish men who received the tract in their language were so flabbergasted, that all they could exclaim was "Wow!". We are pleased that we were able to provide the words of life to many of the tourists, in their native tongue.
Sunday's activities included visits to several churches, including the Catholic and Baptist churches. At the New Hope Baptist Church the distribution efforts went very well for about forty five minutes, when unknowingly, a tract was given to the Pastor. He became very irate and ordered the ambassadors to leave the location, even though they were conducting their distribution efforts on the public sidewalk. The team continued their distribution a little while longer, but the activity was becoming counterproductive, given that the Pastor was advising the parishoners not to accept the tract and other literature that they were given, thus they departed this location. However, despite this setback, the four teams that visited the churches reported a surprising 75% response to the sharing of the words of eternal life, and we pray that the Lord will be merciful and sanctify many of these dear people, through His truth.
One team traveled for about 50 miles northeast of Oahu to the city of WA I MA NA LO where there was a country fair at the beachside park. It was a family affair and no alcohol was sold or allowed on the grounds. Hundreds of couples and familes came to eat and drink at the many food stalls and to enjoy the games and carnival type rides. The vast majority of people were native Hawaiians and they gladly accepted the tracts and other literature. Even the local politicians were there, as usual shaking hands and kissing babies given the upcoming elections. The team had the privilege of sharing a tract with the Mayor of Honolulu, who is running for re election, as well as his opponent, and their respective entourage. The Mayor even remarked, after he had seen what the tract was about: "Please pray for me". It was truly a blessing to bring to these dear people the message of deliverance from sin, of righteousness, and of the soon
coming judgment.
The remainder of the two days was spent at various events including a Baby Expo at the Convention Center, birthday parties and other gatherings on the Ala Moana and Waikiki beach areas, and a Dog Show. Most of these events involved the family, with the majority in attendance being locals. In fact, the Baby Expo on Sunday produced a steady flow of people so that, by the mercy of God, one team was able to spend the whole day at the location, without any bother from the security officials. We were glad to be able to present them with the gospel of grace that could deliver them from the power of darkness and into the marvelous light. Overall, the reception rate for the tracts and FR teaching materials was about 75% and quite a few have expressed concern about their salvation, whereupon they were told to keep reading the Bible and beseeching God for His mercy. We also gave out a few Bible to very grateful recipients.
Brethren, we again covet your prayers for all the people of Hawaii, as well as the many tourists, who will be able to take back the wonderful words of life to family and friends in their respective countries. Let God be magnified!
"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." (Matthew 24:35)

LETTER #7
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12))
Monday, October 20, 2008.. We praise the Lord for another day of service to Him as we continue to share His precious word with the people of Hawaii. The teams visited several intermediate and high schools, and malls and shopping plazas in and around the city center, as well as the outskirts.
The Fort Street Mall in the downtown area, a huge complex with one main pedestrian only street about six blocks long, proved to be a very fertile location since there were many eateries, and little stores, and it was a major transfer point for many buses. The flow of people was so great that at one point there were six ambassadors at the location. A mini team of two ambassadors stayed at the site the entire afternoon and they were able to distribute large volume of tracts and booklets there.
The Lord provided a lot of witnessing opportunities at the Fort Street Mall location, one being a situation where, two ambassadors were having lunch at one of the eateries and they sat next to young gentleman, who, perhaps after reading their tee shirts, realized that they are Christians and started a conversation with them, telling them that he was getting ready for a one day jail sentence for some misdemeanor. During the conversation, this man asked many questions, and he was very open to the teachings on Salvation, the end of time and judgment and was indeed agreeable to the new revelations from the Bible. He even remarked that he felt that God had placed the ambassadors right in his path at that particular moment and declared that he is looking forward to serving his one day sentence. He took some tracts and teaching booklets, saying now he would have something to read while he is in prison, and to share with others that he would meet
there. We thank the Lord for that door of utterance that He has opened to us to speak the mystery of Christ
At the many schools visited, including the Central Middle School, the teams reported a satisfactory reception amongst the students of all ages, many of them also curious about what the 5/21/2011 date meant. The ambassadors gladly explained the date advising them that they need to beg for God's mercy so that they might be ready to meet Him. Some of them scoffed at the message, but many were indeed sober and wanted to know more at which point they were given the teaching booklet "We Are Almost There", and they were told to check the website for additional information. May it be that many of these students would be in that "great multitude" that the Lord is harvesting at this time.
Since most schools finish their day at about 2.30 pm there was still time in the afternoon to visit other locations and so one team returned to the "tried and true" Ala Moana Shopping Plaza and was able to share this wonderful message of hope with many of the people who were out and about. Another team worked at a bus stop in another area of downtown Honolulu (Bishop Street and South Beretania junction). This bus stop was a transfer point for about twelve different bus routes and so the team was able to reach the workers from the various offices and a nearby hospital at the 4.00 5.00pm rush hour. Again we were able to distribute many tracts and FR teaching booklets providing for a 75%acceptancece rate. Also an ambassador had the opportunity to witness to a man who at first indicated that he did not need the tract because he was a deacon in his church and he knew about the Bible. The ambassador told him to flee the church
because Satan rules there. During the discussion with him he was saying that even though he knows that the church cannot save anyone, we still need to fellowship there (using Hebrews 10:25 as a proof text). The ambassador told him that our fellowship is with God and His Son Jesus Christ. In addition he said that we are stating a time yet the Bible teaches that no one knows the day or hour. The ambassador told him that was true, but that the Bible also teaches that those who will not know the time are those in darkness. He was amazed at that response, saying, in effect: "Really, I did not know that". The ambassador again offered him the tract and "We Are Almost There" and he gladly received it and said that he will look into that information in more detail. We pray that this is one of God's lost sheep whom He is drawing into the fold.
One of the malls visited was in a very affluent neighborhood on the outskirts of the Honolulu city center, but despite the affluence, the team's distribution efforts there were very successful and we thank the Lord for His providence.
Tomorrow, Lord willing, we plan to move a little further out of the city and we seek your prayers for traveling mercies, as well as for wisdom and guidance as we continue to spread the gospel of Salvation to the people of this beautiful island.
"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” (John 9:4)

LETTER #8
"And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.” (John 16:8 11)
Tuesday, October 21, 2008.. Today is exactly thirty one months from the Day of the Rapture and three years from the destruction of the Universe. In discharging our watchman's responsibility of warning the world of the Day of Judgment, as well as to let the people know that there is a way of escape through God's saving grace, we again visited many schools and colleges in the outskirts of the city, while some ambassadors revisited the Fort Street and Ala Moana Shopping malls.
Even though there has been a presence at the Ala Moana shopping mall for the past seven days of the mission trip, nevertheless, this area has provided a very productive source for our distribution efforts, given that it is one of the well known and frequently visited malls in Honolulu's downtown area. There is a rapid turnover of tourists and this greatly facilitates our sharing of the gospel of grace to the dear people that visit this establishment. Though the reception rate was only about 60%, because the team stayed outside the mall entrance for the entire day, the ambassadors were able to share a large volume of the "Does God Love You? tracts and the teaching booklets.
While that team of three remained at the mall entrance, another team of two combed the whole area around the mall, visiting all the shops, stores, kiosks, business offices, and the like, sharing the message with all who were willing to accept it. At the end of the day, when they had just a few tracts remaining, they went into the mall (forbidden territory) and discretely distributed to the shoppers and store owners in a few of the stores, without any intervention from the security personnel. Praise be to God.
The team that returned to the Fort Street Mall stayed there for only about an hour, being that their foremost assignment for the day was to visit three schools (an elementary, a middle, and a high school at another location). The distribution at the mall was steady and the people were reasonably receptive, especially among the students of the Univeristy of Hawaii which is nearby. In addition, an ambassador met a FR listener, a security guard at the University and he was pleased to receive the message, and also thanked the group for bringing the message of hope to his people.
This team continued on to the schools in the Dillingham area of Honolulu, about a 25 minute bus ride from the Fort Street Mall in the downtown area. When they arrived there, they stopped at the elementary school where the students were on a break, however they were told that they could not share the tracts on the school premises. Similarly, at the middle school they were told that no distribution of religious literature was allowed on federal property. The team decided to wait for the dismissal of these three schools (1.56pm, 2.00pm and 2.10pm). Though the timing was tight, by God's grace, the team managed to reach many of the students with the true gospel, the majority of them being from the high school, which had the largest population (about 2,500 students). They then went on to the Dillingham shopping plaza, the Honolulu Community College, and then finished off their distribution at the Ala Moana Park. Altogether, they had a
very productive day, sharing the word of truth that saves to the uttermost.
The remaining teams reported a day of good success at their various locations, including the Kahala Mall, Kahili High School, and the Shamade University, with a 70 75% reception. We thank the Lord for strengthening us for this arduous, yet joyous responsibility of bringing the message that is a savor of death unto death and life unto life. We acknowledge that this is a hard message for many to accept, but we are indeed grateful that God has entrusted to unprofitable servants such as we, the awesome words of life that translates His people into the Kingdom of Christ.
During our distribution day, the Lord continues to provide many witnessing opportunities for us. In one instance, an ambassador was talking to a man who was reading a local newspaper that had an article referring to the end of time. The article had the makings of a free will gospel and the man seemed to be accepting this as truth. However, the ambassador shared with him that there is only one truth, the Word of God, found in the Bible, at which point the ambassador gave the man (who had received a tract earlier) a Bible and "We Are Almost There", telling him to search it out. The man was very grateful for these precious gifts, and profusely thanked the ambassador, especially for the beautiful KJV Bible.
In another instance a young man (about 16 years) received a tract outside of one of the stores and he immediately started reading it. The ambassadors had combed the mall area, sharing the tracts and booklets and after about 45 minutes they passed back by the store and this young man was still intently reading the tract. An ambassador walked up to him and asked him if he had a Bible to which he answered that he had been meaning to get one and was not able to. Thereupon, the ambassador gave him a Bible and he was most grateful. We praise and thank the Lord for His marvelous provision.
Moreover, we see the fulfillment of the scripture where it says what God opens no man shuts. At a previous stop at the University of Hawaii, the door was shut to distributing the tracts on the premises; however, another visit was made there and by God's mercy the assigned team was able to share the true gospel with many of the students, especially by the university's library. The security guard stationed there had called an ambassdor over to him and the ambassador thought: Oh! Oh!, we are going to get thrown out now. It turns out that the guard who had been watching them the whole time that they were there, just wanted to know how to get his life back on track and the ambassador was able to witness with him. We praise God for his hand of mercy.
We express our gratitude to the FR listening audience for their prayers, as well as the financial contribution they have made, and continue to make towards the purchase of Bibles. All praise and glory to the only wise God our Savior.
"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” (Revelation 14:6 7)
